This is NOT an imitation of the originals, but rather a respectful TRIBUTE to the wonderful music and folklore
of SIMON and GARFUNKEL.
Moni
Arnon, with many years of stage experience as an original member of “The Brothers and the Sisters”
group,
and
Larry
Fogel, born in the USA, his mother tongue is English, and Folk Music his second language…
Together they perform the songs, spicing up
the show with short, amusing and piquant background stories.

Larry Fogel
was born in Miami, Florida
USA, and came to Israel
with his family at the age of 12. At the age of 11 he started taking guitar lessons with a "free style" teacher. Larry also
took to the piano at home and developed his talent on both instruments. Larry's affection to Simon & Garfunkel began in
3rd grade literature class, when he was taught one of Simon & Garfunkel's tunes - "Feelin' Groovy". He started performing
in parties during high school.
During his mandatory military service in the Israeli Air Force he was a self-appointed
"one man band" with a guitar ready for social entertainment. When he was released from the army, Larry began performing with
a friend at the "Briza" club in Tel Aviv singing songs by Simon & Garfunkel, Bob Dylan, Janis Joplin, Don McLean, James
Taylor, Crosby Stills Nash & Young and more…
After a short while the duo parted and Larry started a career as a solo performer. He
moved on and performed in places like the "Ha'asam" club managed by Matti Caspi and Arik Sinai, "Habikta", and other popular
places of the time.

Afterwards, Larry dropped performing for a very long time to build a management career
and a raise a family.
In 2003, he returned to the music scene and started performing at Folk Clubs around
the country, where American folk music is played and sung, including taking part in the "Jacob's Ladder" bi-annual folk festival.
At the end of 2003 he met Moni Arnon (from the "Brothers and Sisters" Israeli group) and on May 4th 2004 they started the
successful "Simon & Garfunkel" tribute show currently taking place around the country, including a few overseas excursions
to London, New York and Toronto (so far). He also performs a show with his life-partner Mindy Burns, called “Heart Beats
– 60’s and 70’s Unplugged” - they recently performed at the Isle of Wight Festival.
Moni Arnon
Fans of the 1980's hit parades remember him, due to his hit "Broken Picture" that made
it to the top. Others might recognize Moni from "The Brothers and Sisters", a trendy group that enjoyed high exposure performances
on TV during that period, and still perform together.
Later, Moni became a popular mixing and recording engineer. You can find his name on
albums made by David D'or & Sharon Haziz, "Hamsa", Lea Shabbat, Shlomi Shabbat, Eyal Golan and others…
From his early days, Moni loved the folk songs style such as Simon & Garfunkel's.
His friends back then, and many more soldiers that watched his performances during his military service, already knew this.
Now, when he met Larry, his 'old love' could be renewed.
Moni and Larry met by chance at a rehearsal at Shay Tochner's home – an Israeli
Irish and American Folk musician.
Moni was impressed by Larry's skills with Simon & Garfunkel's tunes and suggested
a duo Simon & Garfunkel tribute.
In addition to the Simon & Garfunkel Tribute, and "The Brothers
and Sisters" group, Moni also performs in an American Country Music Show called “County Roads”, with Shay Tochner
and others.

נולד במיאמי, פלורידה,
ארה"ב ובגיל 12 עלה לארץ עם
משפחתו.
התחיל ללמוד גיטרה
בגיל 11 אצל מורה שלימד ב'סגנון
חופשי' - ללא תווים. מכיוון
שבבית היה גם פסנתר– שלח
ידיו אל הקלידים, ופיתח
יכולת נגינה על שני הכלים.
אהבתו לשירים של סיימון
וגרפונקל החלה בכיתה
ג', כאשר למד בכיתה אחד מהשירים
של סיימון וגרפונקל - "Feelin'
Groovy". את הופעותיו הראשונות
החל במסיבות בית הספר
התיכון.
בשירותו הצבאי בחיל
האוויר היה "צוות-בידור-של-איש-אחד"
עם גיטרה ב'כוננות' למקרה
ויידרש להנעים לחבר'ה
את השהייה בבסיס.
אחרי הצבא, התחיל להופיע
בצמד עם ידידה במועדון
"בריזה" שעל הטיילת בת"א
עם רפרטואר שהיה מורכב
מקאברים של
Janis Joplin, Bob Dylan, Simon and Garfunkel,
James Taylor, Crosby Stills & Nash ,Don McLean, ועוד...
(אגב, באותה עת הופיע
גם מוני ארנון באותו מועדון
מבלי שהאחד ידע על השני.)
אחרי תקופה קצרה התפרק
הצמד ולארי יצא לדרכו
כסולן.
משם המשיך דרכו למועדונים
אחרים בת"א כמו "האסם", שנוהל
מוזיקלית ע"י מתי כספי
ואריק סיני, "הבקתה", ועוד מקומות פופולאריים
של הזמנים ההם.
בשלב מסוים לקח לעצמו
פסק זמן מהפעילות המוזיקלית
והחל ללמוד ניהול בית
מלון.
לפני
כ-4 שנים חזר לפעילות מוזיקלית
מחודשת ומכאן החלו העניינים
להתגלגל במהירות. הוא
החל להופיע במועדוני
הפולק קלאב בארץ, בהם מנגנים
ושרים מוזיקה אירית ופולק
אמריקאי, כשגולת הכותרת
הופעה בפסטיבל "סולם יעקב"
(המימונה של האנגלוסקסים)
המתקיים כל שנה בחיק הטבע.

מי שהיה
בשנות ה – 80 פריק של מצעדי
הפזמונים זוכר אותו בלהיט
הגדול שכבש את ראש המצעד
"תמונה שבורה". אולם הוותיקים
יותר זוכרים אותו כחבר
בלהקת "האחים והאחיות"
שהייתה במשך עשור להקה
פופולארית מאד שהופיעה
מידי שבוע בסלון ביתם
של אלפי אנשים מעל מסך
הטלוויזיה.
לאחר
סיום פרק זה הפך במהלך
הזמן לטכנאי הקלטות ומיקסים
מבוקש. תוכלו למצוא את
שמו ברשימת הקרדיטים
על תקליטיהם המשותף של
דוד ד'אור ושרון חזיז, להקת
"חמסה", לאה שבת, שלומי שבת,
אייל גולן ועוד…
סיימון
וגרפונקל, וכל ז'אנר הפולק
רוק האמריקאי, היו אהבת
נעוריו. חוג מכריו ועוד
כמה אלפי חיילים שהופיע
בפניהם בתקופת שירותו
הצבאי, ידעו כבר אז על אהבתו
זו. רק עכשיו, בשיתוף פעולה
עם לארי, חודשה 'אהבת נעורים'
זו.
כמה מעודד ומפתיע (ואולי
לא) לגלות עוד ועוד אלפי
אוהבים בקרב הקהל הרב
שבא להופעותיהם.
החיבור עם לארי התרחש
בעת מפגש מוזיקאים בביתו
של שי טוכנר – מוזיקאי ותיק ומוכר לאוהבי
מוזיקה אירית ופולק אמריקאי.
מוני התפעל מהידע והביצועים
